How to write a short video script

A five-part template you can fill in for any product video in a few minutes.

The five-part template

1. Hook — the problem or result, stated in one line. 2. Turn — "here's the fix." 3. Show — the single action. 4. Payoff — the result. 5. CTA — what to do next.

Example: "Still editing by hand? / I just paste a script. / AI Director builds the edit. / Captions, zooms, graphics — done. / Try it free."

Write for the ear and the eye

Short sentences. One idea per line. Say the thing the viewer is thinking. If a line doesn't earn its place, cut it — every second counts in short-form.

Turn the script into a video

Once the script is tight, paste it into DigitalIncomeRoute and the AI Director builds a first cut from it — scenes, captions and camera moves already aligned to your lines. Tweak and export.

Frequently asked questions

How many words for 30 seconds?

Roughly 70–80 words at a natural pace. Shorter is usually better.

Where does the CTA go?

At the end, but keep it short — one clear action, like "try it free".

Can AI write the script for me?

You bring the script or rough notes; the AI turns it into the edit. Great scripts still come from knowing your audience.
